Dr Pari Farzim, PhD.

Consultant Family and Systemic Psychotherapist

About Me

Dr Pari Farzim, PhD.

I am a Consultant Systemic Psychotherapist specializing in Family, Children, Adolescents, Adults and Couples. I have worked within the NHS for over 25 years.

I originally trained as a lawyer but switched careers in the early 1980’s to pursue a career in mental health. I obtained a PhD in Systemic Psychotherapy from London University. I also hold a degree from Institute of Family Therapy as a trainer and supervisor recognized by the Association of Family Therapy, (AFT) and United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy, (UKCP).
I have taught for many years on Family Therapy Master Degree courses within the Institute of Family Therapy and Institute of Psychiatry.

In my last post within NHS, I had been affiliated as a Consultant Systemic and Family Psychotherapist within Richmond Royal Hospital, South West London and the St Georges NHS Trust where I was head of the Psychology and Psychotherapies Department within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. I also lead the department for adolescents with eating disorders. I am proud to advise that this department had been recognized as one of the best services of its kind in London.

At present I work privately at organizations such as the Nightingale Hospital, and from my consulting rooms in South Molton Street and Wimpole Street, and also remotely from home. I also offer post-qualifying supervision to clinicians working within the field.

I run groups with eating disorders, anxiety, depression and other stress management difficulties, alongside their families if required.

Whilst my work in the public sector has been mainly with adolescents and their families, I have developed expertise in working with couples and individuals through my private practice.
